Happy Late Valentines Day

So last minute Rafael and I decided that we do a big group get together for Valentines Day.. the idea was good... but the actually evening was not the best.. why you ask.. lets start of talking about dinner... we literally waited for dinner for 2 hours... it was awful I even got into with the owner of the resturant because she didn´t want to give me the bill because we wanted to leave.. imagine that.. so besides that it was an overall frustrating evening.. I am so glad though that I at least had the chance to spend some time with my friends and my honey... its little meetings like that when one realizes how important each day is and how we should always cherish the moments that we have.

I know that this is a short entry but I have to hurry because I am about to lose the internet connection!

What a weekend!!!

So this weekend, we headed to my usual favorite place.. San Jacinto to eat yet again the best food of the north... man was it good. I finally had the oportunity to bring Fabiola ( my Brazilian friend that I love dearly) it was a special occasion because her brother Marcelo was in town and had the opportunity to share this eventful occasion with us..

On sunday, Rafael and I stayed in... way to much from our eventful Saturday... we also had a surprise guest at our house.. my neighbor who anytime now will probably be moving in with his since he has rented out his apartment.. it was fun though for Rafael and I to laugh at all of his crazy ideas that he has planned...

I guess I am ready for another crazy week.. filled with lots of eventful moments... oh did I mention V-day is coming up.. I have no idea what I am going to do for Rafael but I am sure I will come up with something.. I hope that he has a surprise planned for me.. or at least I am keeping my fingers crossed that he does!!!!

This years goal... to acutally use my blog... and not just say that I am going to.....

Ufff... its only Tuesday

Have you ever had one of those days where you feel like you havent accomplished anything at all??? My feeling exactly... I have so much to do that I have no idea where to start. I felt like I was in one of those twlight movies where I have no idea what is happening or how to make it stop. I did accomplish something today that I have been wanting to do for the last 7 months that was to climb the 50 meters of steps to get to the top of the storage silos for the phosphate at work today. You can only imagine what I was thinking when I was walking up those close to 17 floors of steps:

1. My godness you are out of shape
2. What were you thinking
3. Is this torture ever going to end
4. ARE WE THERE YET???

I have come to the conclusion I have to lose weight... this extra baby fat has got to go (as if I have had a baby to blame my extra layer of meat that I currently am carry around.. No, actually I am talking about the baby fat from growing up...). I have made a pack with myself that starting tomorrow I need to make major changes in my eating habits as well as my exercising schedule which currently is non existent.... So that means I have to say goodbye to old eating habits tonight and so I decided that tonight and tonight only I could eat all that I wanted because starting tomorrow I am to change my eating habits drastically.... not such a smart idea.. as I am currently typing on the computer all I can think about is the horrible tummy ache that I currently have... I have come to the conclusion that I am not very wise when it comes to making major decisions.

Where is Rafael during this entire time of pig out???.... what I should have been doing playing soccer.. he has come to the conclusion that starting tomorrow is going to be a new supportive members of the local gym here in Piura... I am not sure how long this episode is going to last.. all I can say is that I hope I beat him at this weight lose game (BIGGEST LOSER GARCIA STYLE!!!) .... guess that means I have to actually put in some major effort!!!! Good-bye weekend beers and hello friday night wine!!!! At least Rafael and I will have an excuse to go the dance club come friday nights!!!!

Well, I am in need of some beauty sleep and Rafael wants to have the computer for a while so I guess I will close now!

Just another manic monday

This weekend was awesome it was spent what I love doing most relaxing with my family.

The week has started off really well, besides the fact that I had a list of to do´s about 20 things left to complete and you can only guess how many I completed... yeap a hopping 3 items!!! Lets just say I have my work cut out for me this week.

I have come to a realization today I LOVE OVERALLS... I mean it, you the kind welders wear... today at work all of the people that work in the maintanace area recieved there new uniform which you can guess was a pair of overalls... with a little convincing (basically just showed my pearly white teeth) I recieved my very own pair... I plan on showing them off tomorrow at work I will make sure to take pictures so that you all can see my new work uniform!

For dinner I did it I had bread with some cheese and tomato.. feels like forever since I have had such a simple sandwich, and boy was it good. Brought me back to Summer time when I would sit out in my parents garden and each fresh picked tomates with salt ( aaaaaaaaaaa the memories).

I hate to cut this short but I am off to a soccer game.. I have to cheer for our companys team... lets just say if they win next game I have to wear a cheerleading outfit... I have no idea if this is good for them or for me???

WEEKEND!!!

So its Saturday morning... I was hoping to sleep in today with the hubby but he has to go to work and I have to go to contract manager training. Life is great though, I have realized something very important today.. I LOVE THE WEEKENDS, beacause it is that simple special time you get to spend it with the ones you love!

Today, is Myluskas birthday a close friend of Rafael and I... who like me loves a good bottle of wine and having time with close friends. She has invited us to dinner at her house with other friends... I am sure that we are going to dance and drink the night away. My new motto,..... eat what you like and dance it off in the evening!!!! jjajajajaj (if only it was true ;)) I still havent found the gift to give her... I want to get her something that she really needs there is nothing worse then getting a gift just because you have too, I have always thought that it should be something from the heart.

I think today is going to be an excellent day though because today I get ceviche (raw fish cooked in lemon juice) which I can never get enough of, except when they over do it on the spicy pepper to make it "pícante" I will make sure to take pictures today so that I can post and you can see this delightful creation!

Well, I hate to cut this short but I have to get ready and I need to go and wake up the hubby lets just say we got in early this morning after dancing the night away!

Start of a New Year

Well... its official I a going to start our blog again... or shall I say start what I (Elena) never finished??? I promised myself at the beginning of this year that I was going to make a blog for Rafael and I so that our loved ones could be updated on what is going on in our life... and well I forgot that in 2008 (yes... many moons ago...) I had started a blog for us.

So, here it goes ...

Start of a new year and start of new projects!

Current goals for January:

1. Plan our 2 week vacation for August ( I know I said new starts and I am already planning vacation)
2. Maybe buy another plot of land as an investment
3. Plan at least 1 BBQ at our apartment
4. Go to the beach
5. Bake a cheesecake
6. Cook at least 1 new recipe
7. Blog at least twice a week

As you can see we have set our sights high... lets see if we can complete 5/6 goals

I promise I will have more to write tomorrow since it is going to be a bit of an eventful day since we have yet another export shipment leaving our port.
